Elliot Westminster and Whittington Chiming clock

Hi, Would like to show case my latest purchase, The case is Walnut, All the details for the clock are on the lable, you can turn the hands backwards on this movement, it is in remarkable condition, a quality clock.It has seven jewels, weighs in at over 5kg, my scales only go up to 5kg, the thing i would like is the date if thats possible, thank you.

Nice clock. German spring balance escapement, this clock is no more than about 30 years old, mid 1970's to late 1980's.

I've owned a few of these Elliott dual-chimers, and I have the same model as your clock. There should be some numbers stamped on the bottom that I believe are the month and year the clock was made. I know they were making them in the 1960s, maybe even a littler earlier.

I'm almost certain the movement is made by Elliott, and therefore cannot be German. This is definitely no Hermle. The escapements on these clocks are usually engraved "French Escapement."

In my opinion, a lot of clock in a relatively little package.

Hi, on the movement,is a number 19764. F.W. Elliot Ltd. Coventry England. I missed the brass Plaque on the back, presented to Mr Anthony F Street. Royal Worcester Porcelain Works Co Inc 20-10-1972.

Well it has a little more history now as the Worcester Porcelain closed it's doors in 2009:

The museum is the only part of Royal Worcester left at the Severn Street site in Worcester after the factory went into administration in 2008 and closed in 2009. The Royal Worcester Visitor Centre, the seconds shop and the cafe all closed with the factory in 2009.

It was a sad day for Worcester as all we have now is Worcestershire Sauce! (but great on cheese on toast)
