• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

What is wrong with this picture?

As a new dude to watches, I gathered a few from friends to start learning with. First thing I try to do is identify the watch. Going to Packet Watch Database I enter the serial number and the manufacture. Here I have found a movement that doesn't match what is in the database. Can someone give an explanation?

Thank you for your wise counsel.

More pictures would help identify. Looks to be an anomaly. That serial number puts it in a run of grade ten 18s movements. I cross checked PWDB with the 1896 Elgin serial list and they both show the same.

Looks like a 6s grade 132. Can you confirm 6 size and 15 jewels?

6222001-6224000 was the last run for grade 132. So it's definitely weird.
