You can find out things like size, style, model, how watch is set, and how many jewels it has from, "The Complete Guide to Watches", by Shugart, et.al., 2011, page 199. From Elgin records, I can state there were 523,000 watches of this grade made and the serial numbers range from 10,235,001 to 39,572,000 (other watch grades made, as well, concurrent with grade 313). It is a common grade of Elgin watch, and yours was evidently produced in 1924.
