Hi, I have a 6 sided 1920`s Elgin wristwatch. I need a relacement movement and am told it is a grade 43. I have looked on ebay US and there are grade 43 movements but described as being for pocket watches. In addition the movements are not working and apparently need new parts. Ideally I would like a complete movement requiring a service rather than needing various new parts.
Can you guys please reco an alternative outlet to ebay where I might get a movement. Also can a movement fit both pocket and wristwatch. TIA.

Yes, a movement can fit both a pocket and wrist watch. But the movement you listed is an open faced 18s, so that one is very unlikely. I would expect a hunter movement, 3/0s or smaller....

That appears to be much more like I described. The number on the movement, what is it?

The 8 digit number on the movement above Elgin usa. That's the serial number. It will tell us all we need to know.

For the price, you could also consider the model 428, which would bring your jewel count from 7 to 15.

Hi, Thank you so much for your time and trouble. The current movement is ruined by water damage which the seller had not disclosed. Anyway I am trying to find a movement that requires minimum repairs and servicing. From your experience is ebay USA prob the best source. Very much appreciate all your help. jack
