Anyone who lived through the 1960's and was a fan of the Beatles should catch Ron Howard's documentary film that highlights the band in concert. It shows the backdrop of the insanity of "Beatlemania" and of the times this happened in. Everything from the Kennedy assassination to segregation was going on as the group toured America. I give it 5 stars (out of 5).

I haven't seen it but heard it being discussed on BBC R4 this week, I had no idea about their ethical stance, that got my respect.

I felt like I was taken back to that period of my life for a little while. In 1964, when they first came to Toronto, I was 16. In 1965, their second tour, I saw them going down the highway in their limo from the airport. I was on my motorcycle beside them. They rolled down the window and waved.
After the documentary there was an extra, the concert from Shea stadium in New York. It was only a half hour long, can't imagine any rock group doing such a short concert now, unless there were a lot of other groups involved.

You're only a year older than I am, Harold. I would have loved to see them in person! I did see Paul, many years later.
