Hello,

I recently purchased an OG clock by Edward M. Barnes. I can't seem to find any information on the clock or clock company. This is a 30-hour brass, weight driven movement. I would like to date the clock and find historical information on the clockmaker.

Regards,

Hiu, Greg. I moved your post from the wiki to the clocks forum.
Spittlers' and Bailey's American Clockmakers and Watchmakers has the following: "Born 1804, died 1871, Chimney Point Vt., Ca. 1830-1834. Bristol Conn. Ca. 1834-1845. Partner in Barnes and Bacon and later (1837-1845) clocks with own label. Many bevel case clocks, some with 1841-1842 dates on label. Afterward manufactured candlesticks."
