Early 8 inch Salt Box Silvered Dial Clock with Date

Not a new acquisition but a clock I bought years ago .It has no side doors and when I got it there was no bottom on the back box but there were four holes for pegs so I made a round bottom piece and 4 pegs and it looks the part.It has a A frame anchor movement and the date works.No name which is a shame . The bezel lock has long gone and putty holding the glass in urrrgh .

Interesting. The only thing that raises an eyebrow is the hour hand is short. Maybe that set of hands was meant for the type of dial that has an inner Roman hour ring and an outer Arabic minute ring. But really an interesting clock.

Lovely dial clock and most unusual in having a date indicator.

Yes Chris I am sure the hands are not original but they were on it when bought so they can stay .
