I am looking for a 14k solid gold 18s box-hinged hunter case for my Hamilton 947, preferably circa 1896 - 1906. There is one on ebay now with the case inscription "Eagle" and "14k-585". Can anyone tell me about this company/brand? Is it reputable? How can I be sure it is 14k solid gold? A friend told me this brand belonged to the Brooklyn Watch Co. and that the only solid gold cases under the "Eagle" brand were 9k. I also read where forgers/scammers were putting false assay marks of 14k on some Brooklyn cases? Any advice for me before I spend a whole lot of money on pig in a poke? Also, any advice on reputable people who might assist me in finding an item like this? Any help is much appreciated

The Brooklyn Watch Case Co. eagle trade mark was used for 9K cases. I don't know how you could be sure that it is 14K. It would be very helpful if we could see a picture of the markings inside of the case (however, linking to an ongoing auction is not permitted).

Some pictures of your No. 947 movement and dial would be appreciated.
