My cousin (John) and I had previously built 10 George Hatch Keyhole clocks and 10 E. Howard Number 6 figure 8 clocks. We are now starting our 3rd project...the E. Howard Number 70-24
    I have the 70-12, 70-14, 70-16 and 70-20 but can't find a 70-24 to take a few measurements
Does anyone know of one in the Boston area ? We need about 5 minutes to take some measurements
    Thanks
    Russ

    Hi Russ,

Seems not much real dimensions till now.

I put an Google picture in a drawing program and rescaled it on the 24 inch dial.
After that all other dimensions follow.

Hope this helps a little bit ?

Thanks Hessell !! This is a huge help.
We were also able to obtain some measurements from John Delaney

Our 70-24's are progressing nicely. We used a 4" hinge for bezel. That door is massive and 3" hinge would never last over time.

Cases are complete. We are using E. Howard gallery movements (which were used on original 70-24) These movements have to be modified by David Lindow to accept longer pendulum. We will be using E. Howard reproduction sticks and original E. Howard 4" bobs (1lb 9oz) Bottom glass will be wavy and done by Linda Abrams. Top glass will be from wavy large windows. Dials will be wooden and done by Astrid Donnellan.
