I am trying to find some information on a certain Dutch clockmaker. See my other thread on this clock. I only have the intials of the maker and the first letter of his livingplace. None of my books could help me, so last try would be the book written by Enrico Morpugo on Dutch clocks from 1300 etc. If you have a copy and you are willing to do as earch, please let me know.

I haven't got the book (Morpurgo: 'Nederlandse Klokken'), but it is easily available in the public libraries of just about every sizeable town in the Netherlands. Not sure where you are situated in Netherlands, but I can list the locations with the book if you like.

Here are a couple of libraries with the book by Morpurgo: 'Nederlandse klokken - en horlogemakers vanaf 1300'

    1. Universiteitsbibliotheek Groningen,
    Broerstraat 4 (tel. (50) 363 5020)

    2. Bibliotheek 'Tresoar'
    Boterhoek 1
    Leeuwarden (tel. (58) 789 0789)

There are lots more, but they are further away from Groningen.

I hope the information I give you is correct, but it might be good to phone before going.

    Hope this helps.

I am visiting the NAWCC Library on Thursday, 18 Jan. If you have not found the information before then, send me the maker's name, etc., and I will scan whatever I find there. This should give my limited Dutch a workout; I'd better pack my dictionary!
