I wrote this to help committee members who need to use the Message Board for their volunteer work. It applies equally well to anyone who intends to spend a lot of time on the Message Board. I know that most of the committee members are not regular users of this facility. I believe it is much easier to keep track of topics and discussions in a forum structure than in an exchange of emails. For most of you there is likely a problem with having to log in to the Message Board in order to post a message or reply to what has been said. One problem is that we try to cater to members who use the NAWCC on-line resources regularly. For those users it is important to have access to past Bulletin articles and Library materials that are only available if one is logged into the main site at https://nawcc.org. Unfortunately that facility does not allow you to stay permanently connected so you have to log back in each day or more often in many cases. That would be a problem for users of the Message Board. Because of the dynamics of the discussions, you really need to be permanently logged in on this site. This attachment is a picture of the page most of you will see if you click on NAWCC Message Board. Because of the importance of the main site there is a big blue button labeled NAWCC at the upper right that will log you on to all NAWCC facilities, but only for a limited time. If you need to use the Message Board regularly, You should look below that button at the small key symbol with the word LOG IN. You can use either the name you use on this message board, or your email address to log in using that small form. If you check the small box that says "Stay logged in" before clicking the LOGIN button on the form, You will stay logged in as long as your computer remembers you have been here.
