I have a dey time clock that has 2 cabinet locks with no keys. I have several IBM master clocks and time clocks but none of the keys will open the doors. On one side the glass is missing so I can get inside, and I can remove the hinges, but I'm not sure this helps as I really need to remove the lock assembly from the case or find a key that fits. Any ideas?

Have you tried a locksmith? If you're going to remove the doors for refinishing/restoration, you may be able to take the door to a locksmith without having to lug the entire clock, or have a house call. Seems it might be worth a call to ask around? Good luck!

Thanks for the note. I found that the lock is just a sliding bar as opposed to the locking mechanism on a master clock. by unscrewing the hinges I was able to remove the door, so now I can have a locksmith make a key. That should be pretty straight forward.

I'd like to take the movement out and have it serviced. Does anyone have experience with taking one of these timeclocks apart (Pictures above). The face is held in with nails in the back, and it doesn't look like the time movement will come out easily. Do i need to remove the entire mechanism in order to get to the clock movement?
