Well, one way, if you have sufficient knowledge of the clock - i.e. mfr. model no. if any, "name" - some clocks have names, etc. is to look at closed auctions on eBay. That will give you a RELATIVE guide to the value - what people have paid for one like it. Condition, originality, working or not, etc. are part of the value equation however.

Fran, as you probably know we don't do valuations here. However, from my personal point of view the three best sources are:

1) eBay, search completed auctions.

2) Auction houses with online catalogs and records of sales: R.O. Schmitt at http://www.antiqueclockauction.com/, Steve Nelson (SNClocks) at http://www.snclocks.com/index.html, Cottone Auctions at http://www.cottoneauctions.com/, Christie's at http://www.christies.com/home_page/home_page.asp, Antiquorum at http://www.antiquorum.com/. There are several others, but these cover the waterfront from low to high end.

3) Tran Duy Ly's many identification and price guide books with specific clockmakers as the topic.

Altogether there is PLENTY of info out there to value your clock. Takes a bit of time and effort but well worth the exercise.

And a lot depends on condition. Original finish, running, complete, etc. A fixer-upper could be worth only 1/2 or less than a prime example.
