This has driven me crazy! The strike side would not work consistently, and I've been pulling my hair out. Notice the second wheel. It appears that it has been installed tilted! Measurement between front and back plates shows almost a full mm difference. I'm going to move the high side down, because it is not engaging the great wheel very well. I'll let you know if it helps :)

I know this is gonna sound crazy. But did you by any chance switch locations of the mainspring gears?

On some, the arbor shaft has different plate alignment. There not exactly same.

Cannot see the pic very well, SB.
Needs to be bigger and lighter, and maybe cropped a bit.

Has the fault just appeared? Has the Bushing Fairy visited the wheel in question?

Sorry my explanation is so vague :)

The strike works most of the time, but when it hoses it won't start again without human intervention. I've rebushed everything that looked bad, and tested the train manually to see if the problem would show up. This is a very cheap 30 day movement that I should never have accepted for repair, but figured I could work with it. Bad figuring :0) The pivots appear to be coated, so did little work on them. They appear to be shiny and groove free. The strike is losing power, but I can't seem to locate the culprit. Possibly more than one.

The tilted arbor looks interesting; maybe it was made like that.
Does the strike stall in the same place every time (maybe this wheel) ?
You might have to assemble it two wheels at a time to see if they run freely.

Sir Joseph,

If you look anything like the picture you got posted, you look like one chilled beach bum. And that's great!!
