Ya better have a good imagination and strong stomach to see a future in this'n. Well; I have both because I already have one and this one I'm doing for a friend. Before shipping lacked all it's markee glass and riser celluloids. Shipping took it's toll even further but beyond astronomical odds, the dial did not break while other broken glass and the clock itself was free to roam the box un arrested. I've never been so afraid to open a tinkle tinkle box. I got lucky.

Looks like the seller failed packing 101, but it looks like a worthwhile project.

Movement cleaned, lubed, and reassembled I now await replacement motor. It's field is burned out. Most prep work done. Markee is ready for the glass man to do his magic and a finished clock not all that far behind.

Too bad the glass got smashed, yeah not the best packing job.
I know it will look great when you are done with it.

Well, irony looms immense here along with the odds of the ONLY most important part - the dial - that it survived while all around it crushed, the sweep hand looked like a pretzel. Now the irony. It is the best packing job you could EVER imagine. It's box and packing weighed more than the clock and the only way to prevent this would be to dismantle it entirely, CRAM the interior with packing and reassemble. Recipient then would have to reverse process. He lives only two state lines away and I'm scared senseless to consider sending it to him. I'll be looking for a friend to drive it in and hand carry it hopefully.

Nice clock, looks like something you'd expect to see a classic 1940/50s American diner.

Two short weeks later and all traces of scars and trauma from ill fated journey are gone To ensure it's safe arrival I have added three more, sturdy clamps to upper frame that fell down. Also, replacing his air and styrofoam packing, I will use a year's supply of bubbl rap big and small. Dallas to Omaha? I'm VERY optimistic. I'm considering a graphics shop to retouch the 5, 6, 7 numerals.
Anyone wanna hazard a guess on age? Motor was stamped "58" but I believe it is much older than that. Perhaps motor was replaced in 58.

The design of the clock looks very 50's to me. The Hanson movement you have wasn't used earlier than the 1950's. Those original motors lasted for many years of trouble free operation, seldom needing replacing. The newer ones, 10-15 years average.
