Hello all, I have a Daneker Grandmother Clock, G66 model. The clock keeps perfect time. However I have not got the chimes and striking to work. The key hole to the left does not turn a bit either direction; while the key hole to the right turns loosely either direction.

Any thoughts and ideas please? Much appreciated!

Broken spring (or click mechanism) on the chime side. These usually have Hermle movements.

Just remove the movement and let down the springs. Then remove the chime spring barrel. The problem/s should become obvious.

Be sure to check closely for collateral damage like: damaged click wheel teeth, bent second arbor, broken second wheel pinion, broken barrel teeth, damaged barrel.

I think you can even get replacement wheels for that. However, it may or may not be easy to replace. We'll need to see the movements front side. If you are fortunate, you can pull the upper part of the case (hood) toward you to remove it. Then remove the hands and remove the dial (fastens to the movement with clips or pins).
