Richie I am with you. There a definite void these days without hearing from Dan. I know he did have some medical issues for awhile, but it sounded like he was back in the saddle. However the last time I checked his profile, he hasn't been on since July 21, 2017.

If any member out there has info as to Dan's well being, me and I am sure many others would like to know how he is doing.

    David

    I heartily second the request.
    I'm 3,000 miles away, though.

For all who have expressed concern about Dan:

I just spoke to him on the phone a few minutes ago. He's been having some trouble with his knees lately, which makes getting around extremely difficult, plus his computer is on the fritz and he needs to have a tech drop by and straighten it out. But he thanks everyone here for their thoughts and concerns, and hopes to be back on the message board soon.

Well that's good news, apart from the computer and the knees.

Markus thank you very much for following up.

I was getting concerned that perhaps it was much more serious, not that his knees aren't a challenge for him

I also thank you Marcus for contacting Dan. I was concerned too. I know his knees are so painful and makes it so difficult for him to get around. I hope someone comes to fix his computer soon so he can once again get on the MB and be in touch with the outside world.

Hurry back Dan and take good care of yourself.

    Missy

Maybe we should start a fund and get him a new one.

Thank you Markus for taking the time to call Dan. I've been checking daily to see if he's posted again but there's still nothing. Glad to hear he's ok. I like the idea of a 'Go Fund Me page', I'm sure Dan would appreciate that, although he may feel the need to just donate the money back to NAWCC, not sure. He needs something portable like a small laptop or even a tablet, something he can carry with him that's small and light.

But he probably is used to a keyboard, and it would need that too.

There are tablets with a bluetooth keyboard. The problem sometimes with the tablet is the screen size.

I would think that perhaps Dan also has a bunch of stuff on his desktop that is important to him. So we need to think about that.

Every year new laptops are introduced and they get thinner and lighter without compromising screen size. Just a few days ago on HSN I saw a HP laptop that only weighed 4 lbs. A light laptop might be nice for Dan because he can transfer some of his info from his desktop to the laptop. Laptops still have traditional keyboards so I don't think that the learning curve would be too huge.
