A customer sent me his Small Schatz JUM/7 that wouldn't go, when I received it I noticed the pin pallets were bent so what's the first thing you suspect, broken mainspring but what I found I have never seen before, the click screw was loose and the click had worn part of the teeth on the ratchet wheel off then it had let go stripping the remaining bits of teeth, so not only were the pin pallets bent but the second wheel arbor was well bent as well.

Looks like a donor movement is in order. That would push it to the brink of "beyond economical repair". Does the customer have a sentimental attachment to the clock?

Yes customer very attached to it, luckily I managed to straighten pin pallets and had a spare ratchet and second wheel although I have straightened the arbor on the second wheel and put it in spares box, running fine now.

Lots of energy released there! Nice to get it going again.
