Customer Tubular

A customer has asked me to find any information on this tubular he inherited from his parents

The only markings he has found are on the dial "Barfoot Brother of Hove, Sussex. I believe this was a jewelry store. They probably sold the clock..
The clock is currently in Oklahoma City so I cannot personally examine it at this time.
Does anyone recognize the clock design and have any idea what it would be worth?

lovely.... and would expect it to bring more on the higher side of whatever the current range might be. otoh, it's really big, which might limit the potential buyer pool a lot. i think it's exceptional... are you saying they're just not in to it? or is this for insurance purposes?

any chance of height measurement and photos through the side doors of the movement (and closeups of pendulum bob, weights, and underside of seatboard)?

I am going to Kansas and will pass through OKC. If one of the family is available I will stop and get more details. None of the family has a place for such a large clock. They are wanting to sell it where it is in their parents home which will also be sold later as part of their estate.

I stopped by on my way back from Kansas and took more photos of this clock. The clock is at a deceased parents house and no one has a place to for it. They want to sell it but have no idea of current value. Looking for buyers. I don't have a place for such a big clock either.

I looked for a makers mark or name but still did not find one on the back plate, case, or hardware potion.

Anyone interested they need to sell it. I have no involvement but can get anyone contact info.

Unfortunately, no but in the earlier picture with his father standing beside it he is 6'1". It has to be almost 9'

You and Jay need to run up to Oklahoma City and snag that one for your collection.

i measured in photoshop... it is indeed 9' tall.

I bought a 1920 house with tall ceilings, and im glad i have them, because some of my clocks are 8 ft tall

that is an odd one bud. i have seen a movement like that before but it was a good while ago and i can't seem to remember the details. my observations are that this is a rather early tube clock perhaps around 1900 plus or minus a few years. i think it was built before tubular clock movements were standardized. it appears to be in exceptionally good condition. as to price, i guess it would be hard to say. if they wish to sell it quickly, i would say somewhere between 2-3k unfortunately. even then, it might be difficult to find a good home due to its height. not too many people have ceilings over 8 feet tall. a couple of years ago, there was a member Copperdragon3 that was looking for the largest tubular hall clock he could find. I don't know if he ever satisfied his search, but that would be the kind of person to market this one to.
