I have a new 8 day Hekas cuckoo that had a problem with the music box. When it was about a month old, over a period of about a week I noticed the music box speed slowly slowing down. Then it wouldnt play at all for about a week. I checked inside the back to see if there was any foreign material caught up in the gears, but found nothing. I looked for anything else rubbing like the waterwheel or the shingle maker figure and found no issues. The clock had the correct 1500gr weights.
Then after a few days of running, it slowly started playing again, slowly at first, then back to almost normal speed. I sent it back in for warranty service and they are saying they can find nothing wrong with it and it is playing fine now.
This is quite an unusual problem and I cant imagine what could be causing a problem like this. Has anyone ever experienced or heard of a problem like this before?
