Cuckoo cuckoo clock movement

I have an old cuckoo clock movement for which I have attached pictures. Though being very old it has cleaned well and the movement works well.
It is a 1 day movement. The only ID # on the back of the movement is Pat 812538.
I have synchronized the cuckoo lift levers and the hammer lever.
The problem I am having is that after the movement goes thru the cuckoo sequence, the lever ( as shown in a closeup shot) does not release the bird lever to return to the enclosed position. There seems to be no mechanism which lifts the locking lever which holds the bird in the exposed position.
What am I missing? Thanks, Rod.

Patent No. 812538 was issued to Jos. Burger Söhne (who created the brand 'Regula') in 1949. The patent dealt with chain winding for wall clocks, in particular black forest clocks.

It looks as if your backplate shows the Regula trademark, but the picture is a bit blurry.

Regards.

Yes, it is a Regula movement (I neglected to include that) - sorry.

I neglected to note that it is a Regula movement.
Thanks, Rod.

We need a better pic of the perch lever at the bottom where the spring is. You may be missing a part there, or it might be in the wrong position.

I do not know what you mean by "the perch lever where the spring is". Could you clarify what that is.
(Note, my logo is the plain R on a navy blue background. Somehow there is another Rod McLeod whose logo is also R on a navy blue background but has a green insert at the bottom of the logo.)
Thanks.
Rod McLeod.

You may think I am "stupid" but I still do not know what you mean by the perch wire and the spring. Because of the differences showing up re my logo, I want to clarify that I am working on a Regula movement with the patent number 812538. If you have a photo of these parts, could you add that to your reply. Thanks, Rod.

The perch wire is what the bird sits on, and the spring is what pulls it back in.
The spring is shown on the lower left of the movement in your center photo.
Your thread isn't showing anyone else's logo, or confusing information here.

Thanks. The perch spring is attached to the base of the perch wire. I am attaching 2 pics of the top corner of the movement which show the upper wire from the perch wire locked by the black lever. What is the mechanism which should release this lock to allow the bird to fully retract once the sequence is done. I hope this clarifies my quandary. Thanks.
Rod.
