Cool machine for making parts

All that is needed now is the machine that will make things out of metal rather than resin which this does.
Isn't it basically a "prototype printer" which have been around for a while?

Remember seeing a roller bearing that was made on one. Actually worked !

Perhaps Ralph. That's what blew me away though is when it produced that adjustable wrench. They mentioned the use of a CNC machine as a next step so I suppose that once this machine plotted everything that you would be ready to make it out of metal on the CNC. :rolleyes:

AS I understand it, the machine produces all the code needed to plug into the CNC machine tool, for it to cut the part. Of course, in the case of teh slide valve, I'm sure what they would do is cast the part and then finish it by normal methods, but the resin pair is sufficient to make the "lost wax" casting mould. I should think that where this would be especially good in the clock world is the impossible repair on a complicated statue or fancy pendulum bob.
