The title of this thread also mentions matching serial numbers. Keystone seems to have forgotten about some serial numbers that were used on the movements that Waltham made for them and so there are a couple of serial number overlaps. I have recorded Waltham-Howard number 1,000,050 - a 16-size 23-jewel bridge model, and E. Howard Watch Co. (Keystone) number 1,000,050 - a 12-size 17-jewel bridge model. I also expect to, one day, find a Series 5 Howard with a number duplicating one already used for an observed Waltham-Howard (serial numbers in the 1,005,xxx range).

Another case of duplicate numbers may be found between Hamilton grade 400 and some Hamilton grade 921. I have not recorded an exact duplicate yet but I do have numbers of one interspersed with numbers of the other.

Both watches arrived the same day. Separated at birth................ now, almost 99 years later.......... they are re-united!!!! Sounds like twin babies mixed up at birth and finding out their was a "match", then seeking each other out to get together. If only watches could talk.

Thank for all the remarks and input!

Just a quick note on consecutive serial serial numbers - I was doing some research on 18s Waltham 1883 "frosty" movements and ended up with a pair (different sellers, different times). The interesting part (to me) was that the plate decorations were very different. So apparently there were several different design stations being run simultaneously. I think Fred showed an example of a 16s Waltham pair. As to value - I would probably pay more to make a set than the pair would be worth..

I know this thread is about pairs of watches (either consecutive or with the exact same s/n) but what about watches with no visible s/n? Not prototypes, but factory oversights (i. e. mistakes).

Hello everyone, I know this is really digging through the past but I had been searching for state street.

One of the most interesting things I saw at the NAWCC National this year was a group of 8 consecutive serial numbered Hampden "State Street" unfinished movements. Each of them had a full set of plates in superb condition but were missing most of the train, balance wheels, motion works, etc.

Since this was at the National, I'm wondering (and really hoping....) Is there documentation or photos of this somewhere in the NAWCC? It would certainly be fantastic to see.

Since this thread has been brought back up I looked back at my older posts and found a link in post #39 that doesn’t work anymore, so try this one instead -- https://mb.nawcc.org/threads/a-pair-of-seldom-seen-waltham-howards.88579/
I showed several pairs of consecutives in that linked thread.

Also, in post #43 I mentioned another pair of consecutives but did not post photos, so here are two very boring Waltham 10-size Colonial-A Riverside grade movements --

The cases are much more interesting -
