I am working on an old German Bim Bam, and i need to replace the hammer return springs and the compresion springs on the fly. I know TS has an assortment, but I dought it will have what i need. Is there a retail supplier out there some where? I do have some brass spring wire, but even the smallest guage is to large. If push comes to shove I will try to make my own. The return springs are about the diamiter of newer clocks but are much longer and the springs on the fly are conical and very thin. Thanks in advance ............TTD

It might be easier to obtain steel wire instead of brass to make the springs? Why do they need replacing, and have you some pics?
Is the fly spring flat, as a bit of scrap watch mainspring might do.

Hello Mike, The ckock was mis handled as it was being delivered to me and the hammer return springs were badley streched out ot perportion. I put some shorter springs from a scrap movement on it and this causes too much pull,, still working with that.. I have not seen any steel wire stock this thin,, thanks for the thought...........TTD

You can always Google what you need, but if you can`t find it, you can try the following

Spring wire is available down to .006" to wind your own from Small Parts Inc.

Just about any spring is available from Century Spring

If you're in the USA, TTD, then go for Jerry's suggestion. Here in the Old World, any model or music shop will have steel wire of all sizes; many internet shops supply boxes of assorted springs.
For me, anything I scrap, like a worn out printer, washing machine, whatever, I strip out any useful parts like screws, washers and springs. I call it my "spring collection" [sorry!].
