don't know how many others use clockmaster on an iPhone, but i've found it very useful.

it's getting a pretty major overhaul... you can read about it here: ClockMaster X

    Nice.

Do you know if this means that we'll have to purchase it again? Sometimes developers remake apps, make their old ones obsolete and charge for people to use the new one. Had that happen with a cross feed audio app that played FLAC that I used to use a lot.

That would really be a question for the developer.

Of course. But since Bruce seemed to have somwhat of an insight in the upcoming changes I thought he might know.

Do we have any idea how long this app update will remain in Beta? I was considering purchasing but don't want to if it will be obsolete in short order.

Also, do those that use this app find it helpful and useful?

The earplugs that came with your iPhone have a microphone built in. It's in that piece that hangs close to your mouth when you wear the plugs.

Sorry, almost a zombie thread, but I just wanted to let folks know- the new version is absolutely magnificent! I bought the old, standard version and it was just adequate for roughly setting the beat and frequency of clocks, but not for any in-depth analysis or anything like that. It suited my uses fine for what it was, and was worth the $10. But they upgraded my version with the new one, (for free I might add) and the new version is just about perfect. I'm a DSP engineer when I'm not messing with old clocks, and the folks who wrote this app did all the right stuff- three different levels of noise reduction, the system "flywheels" through short periods of noise (like striking) without losing accuracy or retraining, the accuracy is fractions of a second per day, the microphones on the iphone work fine with auto-level with a decent time constant, lots of other improvements in the signal processing alone. Let alone all the analysis tools and access to data bases. I know the price has gone up to $30, but it's worth it. It doesn't compare to a 99c candy gathering game- this is a real tool. If I knew how to send the $20 difference in price to the developer, I would. It's that good.

Another fellow here at work doesn't have an iphone- he has an android phone. He'd buy it in a heartbeat if it were available for android. Heck, I'd buy it for him so he doesn't borrow my dang phone all the time to set his clocks up.
