These were found in a former clock and/or watch repairer tools.

What are these items called and what are they used for?

The tool in the first pic is a watch movement holder. I’ve had one for years and assumed that was the case. On seeing your query I looked up the patent #2170535 and found that is exactly what it is. I like the mini vise jaws on the flip side. -Cort

The second photo is also a movement holder. Not sure about 3 or 4.
