    Hello Lamarw,

    Seth Thomas was one the 1st wooden works shelf
    clock makers. In 1818 He purchased the right to make and sell Terry's patented 30 hr. wooden works shelf clocks which he cased in the famous "Pillar and Scrolls" case. He was one of the last makers who survived crash of 1837 still making wooden movement clocks. He switched to making brass movements in early 1840's.
