Hello,

I have a special needs son who collects clocks. Most are your standard everyday clocks but also have a few very nice ones. I am looking for a repair person in Central NJ, that I can bring some of his clocks to be serviced. Since this is new to both of us, I need someone I can trust and someone who will not take advantage of 2 clock newbies. Can anyone suggest someone?

Hi Tony. I'm sure someone will be able to recommend a repairer shortly.

I read your story in the new clock section, wonderful that it is a family hobby. I would suggest that with 50 clocks you and your son should slowly learn how to repair and service them yourselves. Maybe take a few of the more valuable to a service person first and then learn how to do it yourselves. It's very satisfying as a hobby and I bet your son would love it. I saw his smiles, I too smile like that when I'm around my clocks.

Thank You! We have worked on a few of the less expensive ones. I even got a project Banjo Clock for free at the York PA Clock convention. We are going to rebuild that one together. We are taking it slow but learning. I appreciate your comments. I just want the more valuable ones to be done correctly.

If you were closer to PA, I could give you a couple of names, but that would be a hike for you.

You could contact Chapter One and ask for some names.

Also, I believe that richiec is a member of a chapter in NJ that may be closer to you. Even though he is a pocket watch guy, he may be able to provide you with some names of repairers who are closer to you.

Regards.
