Cleaning Platform escapements in a ultrasonic machine

Hi. I had wanted to clean this platform from a carriage clock using my ultrasonic cleaner but wary of any damage I might do. Can I and what liquids can I use? Meths, Horolene, lighter fluid, soapy water then rinsed in white spirit all come to mind. It does actually run but a sound amplification device I have shows a slight variation every second or so. I have never cleaned one of these before so any advice gratefully received. Peter (very amateur horologist)

You don't 'just clean' these in a US. There is a certain amount of disassembly and experience required and you certainly don't want to buy a new one!!!

I would suggest you look for a good watch person that will take on your job.

Hairsprings and ultrasonics don't mix.

Some jewels are held in place by shellack. I dont think you would want to use anything that would loosen them. Hairsprings sometimes have a coating that can be damaged.
Willys suggestion is right on.

It's more likely your platform is sitting off .
It's slightly sqew this will for sure put it out .
I would check first that the depth of the pinion against the drum wheel.
Sorry forgot the name . For the life of me can't remember.
I have the same type and if the platform is off by a fraction the clock miss a beat.
Dismantling these platforms .must be careful done .
Re align that platform and it will probably work fine.

It's also over oiled the bushing well is not ment to be filled.
The brass Bridge looks very oily as if it's been sprayed .

Sure hope you dont put lighter fluid in the ultrasonic. Yes, needs to come apart to be cleaned.

Find a person that works (thoroughly cleans) on pocket watches and your clock will run as intended. Be careful when removing it from the main body of the movement and do not touch the "balance area" as this can result in pivot damage. Reminder: let the main spring down or secure the drive train before removal.
