Not allowed on the message board. Only parts and tools wanted are allowed on this message board. Don't know about the Facebook page.

According to my state police commissioner, facebook is an unpoliced criminal haven.

I do understand this question because I have a
few pocket watches that I don't want to sell
on ebay(not running that well) that maybe someone here may be
looking for. I'm not looking to make any money on them, but would like
them to go to someone who wants them(or needs their parts).

I do agree that a "for sale" section does get complicated.
But, a "I am looking for section" where no one can respond directly to
the topic, they can only PM the person who is looking seems OK.
So there is no discussion on the forum, it's all behind the scene.
They can email or PM the person with an offer.

There are many groups on Facebook that buy and sell pocket watches, perhaps you could try there.

There are five NAWCC Facebook pages: the only one that allows unrestricted posting by its members is the "National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors (Official)" Facebook Group.

That group has its own rules listing, similar to the rules used by this MB and inspired by them, though specifically crafted toward Facebook users under the preexisting TOS already present in the Facebook environment (which we the NAWCC do NOT own, and which is a hosted third-party website run by Facebook, Inc.).

Those rules can be found here:

    http://www.nawcc.org/fbrules

In addition, there is a sticky message posted at the top of that group with the following explanation:

    So, that's the situation.

    Best,

    Markus

There are some well moderated groups on Facebook, like the NAWCC page, to each his own.

Agreed, Facebook does have it's advantages one being exposure to a younger audience. Not saying we are all old!
