I posted in late October that my 1 of 2 old electric clocks was in need of repair and/or cleaning. I received some great replies, however, I was just too nervous to take this Hammond spin start movement apart for cleaning. If I screwed anything up, there's no one around here that could fix it. If I did any damage, I would be sol. So, I reached out to a NAWCC member... I shipped the clock off to him and I'm so happy to report that the clock (worth a ton of sentimental value) is now running perfectly! Thank you Chris in South Easton MA !!! :D

Cool! Nice looking clock too. So, I wonder what he did to it?

Hi Dave, Thanks - yeah the clock case is in pristine condition. I have had it since 2001 and it's never been cleaned! Come last October, it would only run for a max of 2 hours, and sometimes only 15-30 minutes, so it was gunked up good. Such a relief see that propeller spinning again. It's fun to watch it keep time backwards too.
