    Hello

I have just started to collect pocket watches and looking forward to cleaning/repair as a hobby. Have picked up a few movements such as the following one below . Would anyone have any information on this watch or know where I should look. Tried Google and have had no luck at all.

As for the watch it is working the serial number is 69268 the minute and hour hand gears are missing I am guess these will be very hard to find.

I am going to use it and some other movements to practice with for cleaning. I have only just started to purchase tools and after reading many of the post here have found a wealth of information.

Thank you for any information and your time.

    Francis

Pritchard has a listing of Charles Latour, Geneve
It is not much, but here it is:
In 1884 Aiken Lambert & Co. of New York were listed as sole agents for Charles Latour, Geneva

Waht a coincidence  I posted earlier about a watch I just bought, signed Russells on dial and movement, with a movement that looks uncannily like yours. I was comparing it to a Longines movement, but I wonder if it could be a Charles Latour?

    What do you think?

That does indeed look almost the same! It has to come from the same factory? I wonder as you suggest if both were made by Longines as a Private Label Watch?

If you have any photo's of the dial and case would love to see them.

My hope would be that if indeed made by Longines might have a chance at purchasing the missing hour, minute gears.

Thank you Kurtnz for the information that is more then I could find ;)

First, here are the dial and back of my Russells watch.

And here is the movement of the Longines which I found very similar.

... and finally another Longines with some marked similarities (but wihtout that supplementary plate) ...
