• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Hello 24notary and welcome to the Forum. I take it this is a ladies watch from the 30's-40's? There were litery hundreds of minor watch companies back then and subsidiaries of major watch companies. If you can get the back open and let us know what is written on the movement that may help or better yet posting a pic of both the front and movement of the watch. We may at least be able to tell you from what era your Grandma's watch was from. Take care.

24notary,

Central Watch Co. was a secondary watch line produced by Benrus in the 1920s and '30s.

Many manufacturers used double lines, including Bulova/Westfield and Omega/Patria.

Cary

Wayne,

Thank you for your reply. I am unable to remove the back off of the movement. I can open the case and remove the movement with the back attatched but that is as far as I can get. :frown:

Scott,

I have a suspicion that the "works" should lift out of the case back. This must be done with care so that nothing pokes into the mechanism.
