Dial is good, case is rough but always wanted a seth thomas with open escapement. I have never seen a square movement thought. I've restored a lot worse. Any ideas of the model?

Up on disassembly I found all the case parts marked 601 so at least with seth Thomas the number cast into the parts maybe the model of the clock

Looks like you will need to find a strike train.

Dr K, I don’t see anything missing from the strike train. Am I missing something?

It actually will run and strike, but needs a good overhaul. I can see at least 6 bushing needed

I looked again and saw nothing the count wheel uses to control hours. Is it me or is there something that the picture hides. It is not sharp enough to enlarge for a larger virew

The count wheel lever can be seen in a slot and just behind the count wheel at the top, just right of center. You can also see the arbors for the count wheel levers in place at the top of the plate.

I have better photos of the movement under general discussions. I believe this movement maybe a prototype or short run movement. I have located another 601, but it has the typical round movement that is attach to the case in a more french style. Where the case is sandwiched between the dial and back door. More interesting is the case still has casting spots to attach a movement but not drilled or tapped, and the back plate of the case is cast with a pat date of 1886 which mine is not. I'm trying to get permission to use his photo's.
