Does anyone recognize this case mark? I have guessed Keystone, but the elements don't exactly match the data I've seen.

Thanks,

I agree with Kent, a Philadelphia Watch Case Co. case.

I have in my private label collection a Swiss movement made for the Philadelphia Watch Case Co. that is cased in one of their cases. While your mark does not have the company name, mine does.

Here are some pics of my watch and case mark.

Thanks for the help, guys. I had never heard of that company.

I bought an 18s case for my Non-Magnetic watch. When I received it, I found that it had some nasty dings in it, but was otherwise in almost pristine condition. I wondered how a case which looked almost never used would have that kind of damage, unless it was mishandled in the factory and discarded, or, not vintage at all.

Your research helps convince me that it is correct, and the damage was mostly internal, and smoothed out easily. I'm very happy with the result.

Thanks,
jjw

Hi James,

We are collecting numbers for "Non Magnetic Watch Co" mate, just wondering if you can provide serial number and photo of the movement please, thanks?

Your case was manufactured by H. Muhrs Sons prior to the Philadelphia transition. The case posted by luvsthetick shows an example of this case grade during the Philadelphia era.

Just to add clarity or confusion to the discussion, Philadelphia Watch Case Co. was eventually absorbed by or merged with the Keystone Watch Case Co.

Did you notice the jeweling on your watch James, it is one of the older plate designs from Peoria:) Also closer to 1889-90 production, as Kent's advert shows.
