It is most likely the retailer, not the maker. Is there anything stamped on the movement? Some pictures of that would help us, help you.

Thanks for posting the movement image Dave. Unfortunately, these unsigned French movements were finished by many clock makers and it is not possible to attribute them to any one maker in particular. It is a very nice clock though!

are You sure there isn't a tiny mark behind the crutch?Just a thought...
Besides that:I´d guess this clock to be around 1880-1900 by the style of dial and case.
