Hi Guys

I am stumped as to what to do now.

I installed a new Cuckoo movement in my Wuba clock, as thats what was in it, the movement was exact replica of old, i then added weights instead of old weight system, it was running way to fast, i then discovered I had wrong weights, so I placed appropriate weights on the chains, and its still running way to fast, an hour to fast over a six hour test period etc

I then took off the pendulum and put a cuckoo pendulum on, still not correct time, I do not know what to do next

Please help, I have replaced four movements now in various cuckoo's, this is first one to cause this issue

Thx for any assistance

You need a longer pendulum. Count the teeth on the gears to see if it really is an exact replica of the old movement.

Most cuckoos come in more than one pendulum length, and you must have got the wrong one. Go to your local wood supply house and get some 1" trim board (pine). Use a sharp chisel to split it in half. Use your bench grinder or sander to round the edges and ends. Leave it long. Attach your hanging hook from the old pendulum, and put on the leaf (bob). Now you can adjust it to accurate time keeping. When done, trim your stick to look good and paint it brown (non glossy paint). Rust-Olium flat enamel is the perfect color. Takes 10 minutes tops :)

Each movement style usually has 3 pendulum lengths.
As Harold says, you can count the wheels to see the difference.
It is usually three places, the escapement teeth, the next wheel
down and sometimes the escapement pinion.
