Help Cannot remove broken suspension

Theese parts are from a Vincenti & Cie clock. I want to replace the broken suspension but I can't figure how to remove the barrette or hasp or clip or whatever name it is. Sorry for my English. Can you give me any hint to take it off? I have tried to push with the point of a tool, but everything is so small I can't do it.

Try a block of wood. Cut a shallow slot for the gear so that the body rest flat. Add a hole in the wood so that you can drive the tapered pin out.

If it is tapered it's really difficult to say which one is the narrow end. I suppose the thick end is the one that is out.
