Hi all, thanks for letting me join your forum. Just wondering if anyone can identify my new spherical weight clock, as not seen one like it before. It doesn't seem to have any markings on it.

I have never seen one but it does have 'that Chinese look' to it.

Myself and probably others would be interested in exactly how your clock works and what it does as it runs, etc.

If you google Ferris Wheel Ball clock you will find a lot of interesting variations of these great little clocks.

    Welcome to the board,

It does not help to post the same question in two places - it becomes very confusing. You already have some replies to your other thread.

Perhaps a moderator will be along to amalgamate the two threads for you.

I like the unidentified one better. Side by side, they are obviously very different, other then type.

It looks like there's a name under the top plate. I spun the pic around and zoomed in. "VINE xxxMO" ?

I agree. The 4th letter looks like a G to me. VING or WING

I think this is a home-made clock using some commercially available parts, and the lettering under the plates at the top is just where some old brass has been re-used. The finish on many of the parts is basic to say the least, especially on the helter skelter rails at the top.

I agree. I was just about to say that the top sheet looks like a bit of old brass with the foundry mark still on it but graham beat me to it!

So there is! That's quite hard to see, at least from the photo. Well spotted!
