• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Can anyone identify this mantle clock?

I have a green onyx/marble clock, it is a timepiece only. The key says Popular Progress. I can post move photos later. I'm guessing the movement may be English about 1900, however the number under the clock 1379 appears to be in classic early Victorian style. Very confusing!

Also I forgot to add that it appears that the clock once had a stutue or similar on top of it. There is a round ring with a hole in the middle of the top of the clock.

Hello and Welcome to the NAWCC message board.

Your clock looks like green onyx and is most likely French. I don't see any markings on the movement so you will probably not be able to determine who made it. Many of this style clock had a statue or some kind of figure on the top.

The markings on the key don't really mean much since there is no guarantee that the key is the original one.:)

Best,

Richard T.

Thanks Richard and Laprade. I am probably going to sell it on eBay. Any idea what sort of money it would realistically go for? It just doesn't go with our house or furniture!

Just a quick update, the movement has " made in france" on the back along with a 3 and the letter F.
