Bushing suggestion

The New Year is the time when a lot of folks think about restocking their bushing box. Or those who do not have one think about making one set. There are a lot to a complete set. 147 in the case of KWM. One can make up a set that will cover 95% of all the pivots by using only the 3 mm height bushings. Once installed in the plate they can be cut down to flush with the plate by using a split point drill bit in a drill press. The entire plate can be done in a minute. Simply lay the plate over a large PVC plumbing coupler. No clamping is needed.

One can do the same with the Bergeon set.

Mark, what size drill bit do you use for doing this? Do you use a different size bit for each of the six different KWM bushing OD's? I gather you install them flush with the inside of the plate and then cut off the extra from the outside. The drill bit won't make it perfectly flat, but you would then need to create an oil sink anyway so the slight indentation on the outside of the bushing should be no problem, right?
