Bulova D-cell Westminster Chime clock

Could not refuse for $3.99 at Goodwill.
Duracell MAR 2014 D-cell still moves the clock's adjustable balance wheel.
The other operates the motor sounding the chime rods B, A, G, D and tolling the hours as D-G-B chord.

A chime battery leaked and ate through the battery's lower contact spring. I cleaned the spring and put it back in place.
Was ringing slowly. Now ringing fine on thew battery I just installed.
Wife will probably allow it in the garage or basement.
Set to her hometown in China, time. All of China is one time zone 12 hours ahead of EDT.

You can always leave the battery to the chime out, if SWMBO doesn't like the chime.

At first I thought it had a light sensor to silence wheno light. I may have to make one and connect ito the battery circuit.
How does the balance wheel move the wheels?

There are no pallets, there are slots on the balance staff that take the escape wheel teeth on their journey.
