Brand new Hermle 1151-050/94cm

Hi folks,

I have bought a batch of brand new Hermle movements 1151's from the factory in Germany.

One of the movements is acting up!!! They all have autonight shut off...

I set the pendulum going and 5 hours later it stopped. I checked the hands, moon dial etc and nothing seemed at fault. However I noticed that each time it stops ticking the wheel(that engages with the moon gear for the autonight silencing feature) is locked tight! At this point the minute hand is locked. When the minute hand is unlocked by turning it a few degrees further clockwise the pendulum restarts.

Can anyone help to diagnose the most likely cause here?

Just hoping that the rest of the movements are going to be okay. I have never had so many problems with Hermle movements, just really disappointed!

See if it stops with out the dial attached

If it's causing too much effort, Hermle is very good about taking things back and exchanging things. It's probably something simple, but a new movement should work without issues like you are having.
