Help! I'm a clock guy who is just getting into pocket watches. Can anyone recommend a book, or books which would help on identifying, dating etc. pocket watches. I need to know how to tell sizes, read hallmarks etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Doug,

A good general book is the Complete Price Guide to Watches by Shugart, Engle, and Gilbert, No. 21 (2001) issue,
ISBN 1-57432-232 - X, available from many horological book sellers, La Rose, Merrits, Mile High, Timesavers, etc. etc. Welcome to the wonderful world of pocket watches.

    Regards,
    Doug S.

Thanks Doug! I see the book you mentioned in Timesavers catalogue. I'll put it in on my next order.
