Is there a way to determine and order a key to fit this door before I pay a locksmith to come out and try to make a key?

Was there a catalogue for replacement keys for these by chance?

I bought a National Time Recorder years ago that had no key. I tried a few keys I had sitting in a box, and one fit! Could I loan you this key so you could see if it works in your clock? Have it replicated and send it back? If it doesn't work, at least the shape might help. Does your lock look like this?
