I've had this Birks automatic for a while and the crown has a crown logo.

The movement is an ETA 2789-1 with 25 jewels. There are no marking under the case back or on the movement.

    Possibly a Fortis?

There was a period when Birks sold rebranded Fortis watches. I would suggest that that was one of them.

I agree. All the indicators pointed towards Fortis.
