• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

I just picked this up at an antique store yesterday. Does anyone know anything about the age, or any info on this Japanese clock and company?

I have a similar clock. You might find something interesting in this old thread: Click Here

Great web site! The label in the case says Binkosha, but the logo on the dial looks like Meiji.

Your clock may be one of the Pony Express clocks. See this thread for more info
https://mb.nawcc.org/showthread.php?45006-Simon-Wittner-or-Pony-Express-System
The Pony Express System was notorious but we can't lay all of the blame on them.
These clocks were all obsolete and had been running for a half century and people kept them going any way they could.
When they were exported to USA people got them by the box load and tried to put a few together in shape they could sell. No body knew their history and we still don't have a very complete one. Often parts of three clocks might be used to make one that would work and look good.
It looks like the Binkosha logo was scratched off the inside label.

I went down to take another look. What looks like a scratched off logo is actually a locomotive between the Trade & Mark.

Through this thread, I just discovered Charlie Davis' website to help me identify a Binkosha clock I have(I had never seen the logo before). Wow, what a good tool. Thank you Charlie.
