Hello friends, I have a Bentima nini that I don't know how to unlock the pendulum. I know there is a screw to low but I don't understand how I have to do to release the pendulum without damaging the clock. Here I send you a couple of photos.

Bentima is a retailer...the clock was made by Kern and Sohne. The screw in the bottom is usually just unscrewed which will lower the guide cup on the top of the base. That should be enough to allow the pendulum to rotate. Can you also show a picture of the back plate?

I unscrew and the pendulum is not released.

I have a clock that is similar to this. There seems to be some corrosion associated with the top of the pendulum...it could be that it is just stuck. The bottom block should fall down through the hole that is in the lower bracket. If the bottom block is not the correct size, it could be hung up there. You could carefully undo the two screws that hold the lower bracket in place...then it should come down...maybe you can then work the lower bracket off.

Is it possible that the thread is longer than it should be?

Turn the screw under the base the other direction...you must lower the cup in order to release the pendulum. Even still, the spring could be too long but you won't know that until you lower the cup.

From your last photo, the guide cup looks stuck in place. You'll have to check out why. I'd suggest removing the pendulum from the bottom block, and disassembling the guide cup to look for whatever is keeping it from dropping down even with the base.

Just saw the video...don't use a screwdriver on the fastener. Use your fingers on the larger knob to lower the cup and release the pendulum.
