Purchased this Aurora 1887-1888. Can’t find a lot of information on it but what I’m really curious about is the maker of the case and it’s hallmark, I haven’t been able to find anything to identify the maker, any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum!

I think the general consensus on this mark is early Wadsworth & co, although I've not seen definitive proof. A case came my way with the same mark last fall, and after reading through the forums and searching the internet, that's what I came up with.

As far as quality, Wadsworth makes (in my opinion) an amazing gold filled case, especially the earlier ones. The quality and look of the W&co case matches ones with the normal Wadsworth mark. That surely isn't proof, but it helped me agree.

Going off of roughbarked's chart, your Aurora watch would fall into the Wadsworth and Co date range, possibly another clue.

I would love to find proof, and revisit this mark occasionally. Maybe one of these days some information will surface.

Cool watch, congrats. The Aurora ladies movements are a beauty. Sure had my eye on that one! :)
