Information on this watch is from the Breguet Papers (generously researched on the Museum's behalf by Mr. Philip Ponitz): Oct 25th 1815: Sold Monsieur Lindesay of 39th English regiment for 640 FF; Dial Maker - Lucard; Ebauche maker: Redard - cost 68 FF; Escapement made by: Garcin - Ruby cylinder - cost 50 FF; Case maker: Gross - cost 68 FF; Total Cost to Breguet = 397 FF. Brass movement. Engraved on reverse, ”Breguet No. 2883.” White enamel dial is imprinted, ”Breguet Et Fils” along bottom. White enamel dial with Arabic numbers and bearing the secret signature ”Souscription No. 2883 Breguet” below the number twelve. Mounted on silver case with hinged, open-faced front and hinged back. Interior of back cover is engraved with the serial number and with the number ”476.” Sides and reverse of case are marked with cross-hatching. This watch is one of a number of documented Breguet watches in the Museum collection.
